  • Yoga Nidra Sat 27th April at 18:30

Yoga Nidra is the deepest kind of relaxation – an ancient but little-known yogic practice that is becoming increasingly popular which helps create balance and harmony in the nervous system by quietening the mind. Yoga Nidra is frequently observed as a kind of ‘yogic sleep’. Within the state of Yoga Nidra, you’re further beyond a waking state, past a dreaming state and inside a kind of sleep or very deep meditative state, even though you are truly awake. It often brings immediate physical benefits, such as reduced stress and better sleep and has the potential to heal psychological wounds. As a meditation practice, it can engender a profound sense of joy and well-being. It is a deceptively simple guided practice, taught lying down.................there is nothing for you to do but rest..................... 50% of the funds raised in this session will go to Racing Welfare As the Yoga Shack is a small room and the decking limited, in the interests of health and safety you are asked to put all your belongings in the store room after arrival or in nice weather outside below the steps. Please do not leave bags or excess equipment in the practice area around your mat. Whilst there is yoga equipment to borrow, it would help if you could bring your own. If you do borrow please do wipe down the equipment after use with wipes in the store room. For Yoga Nidra do bring spare blankets and warm clothes as it is a lying down practice for 1 hour and you may get cold. Please do not attend class if you are suffering from a cold, flu or covid.

  • Dhyana:Meditation Sun 28 April 2:30 pm

Dhyana; the state of meditation is introduced at the start and end of all yoga classes. However, there is much more to Dhyana than the few minutes we practise at start and end of yoga classes.
