  • Welsh May Yoga and Meditation Retreat

In Patanjali's Yoga Sutra 2.47, “prayatna shaithilya ananta samapattibhyam,” is translated as “Perfection in an asana is attained by the relaxation of effort and the total absorption of awareness on the infinite.” We often get caught up in the effort of attaining the perfect shaped pose. In Sutra 2.47 we are told to let go our effort and exertion to allow our attention expand beyond our bodies. This is not an easy task! It takes practice and time to find this state of "effortless effort". In classes there is never enough time to allow the whole process to unfold. This retreat in beautiful West Wales will give us all time to explore and deepen our yoga and meditation practice as well as relax with fellow yogis in the land of daffodils, leeks and sandy beaches. We want to welcome you to West Regwm Farm for a fun, joyful, hard-working 3 days! Time table (approx) Friday 15 May: Arrive 2pm Yoga session - 3pm to 5:30 pm Evening Meal - 6:30 pm Yoga Nidra - 8pm to 9 pm Saturday 16 May: Morning Yoga - 8:30 am - 11:30 am Big Welsh Brunch - 12 noon Relax and Explore with others or by yourself Restorative Yoga Session - 5pm to 6:30 pm Evening Meal - 7 pm Welsh Sound Bath around the Fire pit (weather permitting) - chanting, Welsh hymns and harp - 9pm Sunday 17 May Meditation - 8 am to 8:45 am Light Refreshments - 9 am Yoga session - 9:45 am to 12:45 am Goodbye Lunch - 1 pm All classes will be taught by Jane with the Welsh Sound Bath being a co-operative affair!
