Service Description

Dhyana; the state of meditation is introduced at the start and end of all yoga classes. However, there is much more to Dhyana than the few minutes we practise at start and end of yoga classes. It is the 7th Limb of Patanjali's yoga sutras and all the limbs before it, including asanas, are the preparation for it. Modern science now backs up the benefits of meditation for general well being and to help relieve stress and anxiety and other health challenges. This afternoon is an opportunity to deepen your practice and treat your mind to a slient retreat. Limited spaces as normal due to limited space! If you want to book all the sessions over this weekend at a reduced rate - DO NOT BOOK THIS ONE SESSION - go to the WEEKEND CHARITY EVENT and book that instead. 50% of all proceeds will go to Racing Welfare Charity. Please check in with Jane before booking if you have any health concerns or have not practised at Sheepdrove this year. As the Yoga Shack is a small room and the decking limited, in the interests of health and safety you are asked to put all your belongings in the store room after arrival or in nice weather outside below the steps. Please do not leave bags or excess equipment in the practice area around your mat. Whilst there is yoga equipment to borrow, it would help if you could bring your own. If you do borrow please do wipe down the equipment after use with wipes in the store room. Please do not attend class if you are suffering from a cold, flu or covid.
